this prelude guy in my town keep talking junk.. he say maxima is slow and blah..... am like lets go race. prelude was manual 5spd vtec and weight like 1000 pound lighter then me so we lined up my friend count 3 2 1 i power braked it @1700 rpm i got him off the line like crzy almost whole car(i got automatic stock) i shifted manually. i shifted second and he start catching up and he got me about half car length. need help...

I don't know what would be best RPM for Max for power braking (aka torque braking). But for autos, it gives you "multiplier" effect on torque. Less time to lock up TC, and less bogging.
The only reason I can think of not doing it at higher RPM will have to do with traction. 1700 sounds pretty low for stock though.

I haven't had the chance to do that yet hopefully soon but maybe some of you have

my friend had i/h/e for his car, I think he has the 2000 model.
anyways, we went up to 60mph from stop, and I got him by about 1-2 cars
