Goodyear guy hating on my Kumhos

I got a new tire from tirerack.com via UPS, hard to find a place that can mount 17inch tires, finally got referred to a place > Goodyear Tire.
ANyway this guy was talking so much **** how those tires(My kuhmos) are terrible, i made a mistake getting them, they are gonna "start peeling and bubbling"

GOD!! GIVE ME THE PATIENCE NOT TO KILL!!!

hmm..

it's those kind of uneducated biased mechanics that give bad names to the rest of the good ones out there.

He may be a bit biased, but it seems like a lot of Kumho owners are having quality control issues with their tires bubbling and being out of round.

Yes. The exhalted Kumho ECSTA Supra 712 tire may indeed be teetering on the brink.

Yet another satisfied customer!

Those Pirelli P6000s in 225/50R17 are looking better all the time!

Have you looked at the Nittos? I love mine....They're V Rated, but they ride sooooo smooth!

Yes, I'm also a fan of the Nitto 450s. I suspect they'll wear better than the Pirelli P6000s, but the P6000s may beat them in terms of grip. It's hard to say.

The Pilots are unquestionably the finest high-performance 225/50R17 tire on the market. But you're going to pay for that quality . . . around $200.00 per tire. Nitto 450s and Pirelli P6000s (until they run out) cost about half as much per tire in 225/50R17. So the question is, are the Pilots TWICE as good as the Nittos or the Pirellis?

No way. I can't imagine how the Nitto could improve anymore. I love that tire. If you are racing.....maybe go with the Pilot....but for everyday use, I love mine for $120 each.......

Sorry to burst your bubble. The Konig Blatants are only $190 or so at Whalen Tire in an 18..... I'm not sure what size wheel you were looking at... But both of those rims look awesome. The Kuhmo just wouldn't do your car justice with those wheels.

y2kse -

The P6000s look great, but neither tirerack nor tires.com carries them in 225/50. Have you found someplace that retails them? Thanks!

I don't like my Kumho's much either.. I guess you get what you pay for though. Best tires yet were my old Sumhitomo's.

Which just goes to prove what I said before . . . everybody has their own opinion on tires. The only way you're going to know for sure whether you like a particular set of tires is to run them on your vehicle. If you don't like them at that point, however, it's a little late to do anything about it.

So, Roger, did you ask this clown what sort of replacement tire in that size Goodyear offers? (Has anyone ever asked Nissan why they chose a 7" wheel?)

Okay, I answered my own question.

So, what's an Eagle GS-D? Anyone have this tire?
