Stillen short throw shifter - a question

For those of you that have this shifter, how is the motion between gears - that is, does it move freely and easily?

Is there any problem with it snapping back to the middle position when not in gear?

thanks.

Adam and I (The New Climax) installed ours at the same. It works great but you have to be very meticulous in properly positioning it when installing. I found that just the slightest change in position and orientation made a difference in how easy or notchy the feel was. Make sure you also have a Dremel handy because on 5th gens you need to increase the size of the opening where the shifter goes though. It's a pretty easy install though.

Not sure I understand what you mean about positioning. Isn't there only one way to position it such that the bolt that attaches the shifter linkage to the shifter goes through both.

Or, do you mean the actual height of the shifter?

By the way, how does the Stillen adjust? Does the ball move down the shifter via threads like on the pace setter?
