Does the UDP mod affect the electronics in your car? Who has a fifth gen with UDP and did it affect your car (and I don't mean HP/Torque)?

I am very close in getting this mod but after talking to this mechanic he kinda shyed me off a bit. Is the UDP just lighter then stock or is it smaller as well? If it's smaller I can see how it can throw things off but not if it's lighter. If it throws things off what is the effect. I need your opinions.
