OMG One More Problem to add
Hey guys I recently swapped out amps for my highs and I am getting some engine noise, but it comes and goes. I sanded the point where I put the ground. I ran power wire on the opposite side from RCA & Speaker wire. So, I take it to a stereo shop and those ****** said that I need new spark plugs and thats the cause of engine noise. WTF!

go to radio shack, get a filter(RF filter?), it will block unwanted frequencies coming into amp/speakers.....hope it helps.

What YO! I thought thats a bunch of crap? Doesn't it make the sound coming through a lot softer too?

I have heard from some other shop that completing the ground loop by attaching it back to directly to the -ve side of the battery will resolve that problem.
I have not try that in person but sounds like a legitimate reason.

Are your RCA/signal lines run near the power cord? Separate them if at all possible. I always run the signal up one side of the car and the power and remote turn on up the other side. Then, if you still get noise, find a new ground. Sometimes it just wasn't meant to be.

These things are complete garbage. They might help eliminate the ground noise a wee bit, but they had more distortion than they are worth. Not to mention the fact that you could potentially pick up MORE engine noise with them.
