I have just ordered a set of the Bridgestone Potenza RE950's to be put on on Thursday. Was just wondering what you guys thought about these tires. I got the manager at the place to price match the cost from Tirerack. I got them for $100/tire. I hope these tires aren't a waste of money.

tires
I would imagine these tires are better than my stock toyo's. These are the tires that I have on my replacement list when it's time. Good luck.

They are great tires
I have them and love them. BTW, getting a local shop to match Tirerack is outstanding, good job.

Awesome, that makes me feel much better. How long have you had your tires. Do you have any problems with excess treadwear loss? BTW, I told the guy either I was going to purchase them from Tirerack and have them shipped to him to put on or he could receive the money himself for the tires. It didn't take long for him to decide!

I have them and i got about 7k on them so far with minimal wear
i feel they are good tires they are very grippy as good as the kumhos in the rain but im sure these will last a lot longer than the kumhos did i had 18k
on them when i replaced them and they wore out extremely fast ..havent been able to try the 950s in the snow cause we didnt hardly get any but im sure they will be better than the kumhos which were totally worthless in the snow..and as for the speed rating i dont find myself going over 130 that often that it matters.

I got them on my 4th gen, I still have them on my stock SE 15" rims. Very good tires. However, they are kind of heavy as most Bridgestone tires are. Total weight is 44lbs with the stock 15s and RE950's, that's heavy! That's the only downside to it though. Other than the weight, I highly recommend the tires.

100 WRX owners can't be wrong to order 225/45R17 for their cars. That's how many I've sold on I-Club, and around NY.

Hi mattduke1 --

If you have OEM rims and you're considering running 235/45R17 tires on them, I suggest you read the post on Page 3 of the FAQs entitled:

Can I run oversized tires on my stock 17" SE Rims?

Here's a link to Page 3 of the FAQs:

Then do whatever you think is best.

No sir, I just have the 16's. The tires will be 215/55/16. I get them tomorrow and looks as if I made a good choice considering all the responses.
