trip/computer on the 2k2???

trip/computer on the 2k2???
I have no idea how to work this thing or understand it. Im talking about the area where the temperature reading is displayed. all I can understand on that is the temperature but nothing else. Today while driving I noticed "DTE" was flashing... what is this??? also Mph?? ive looked through the owners manual but havent seen anyting. thanks for your help

A little help..
Well the DTE stands for distance till empty (gas) and it was blinking b/c you were low on gas.
The MPH is the miles/hr you are averaging on the current trip.
The MPG is the Average miles/gallon of gas you are getting (some people say this isn't that accurate (+/- 3mpg).
The time is the time of the trip you are currently on.
All of these can be reset by holding the button to cycle through them (on the steering wheel near radio controls) for a second or two on each reading (so to reset them all you have to do this 4 times)

on the way home (live in sactown) from socal, during a rest stop, i opened the manual up to see how the f**k to get the display I wanted and lol and behold it was right there...
btw...the time measures only the time your engine running...
