Service Engine Soon Under Load
Service Engine Soon Under Load
I have noticed a trend with my 2000 Max (auto). When I have passengers in the car and pass someone the SES light comes on, and will not reset - it doesn't happen when I'm driving alone. The car downshifts, but the revs don't go that high - so I think the only real difference is the passenger load.
The first time this happened (about 3 weeks ago) the dealer replaced an O2 sensor at the converter and reset the ECU.
Does anyone know about this problem?

What code is set when the SES light comes on?

This problem is especially strange since I only have about 17K on the car, and no performance mods (unless you count the lowered cd due to Zaino).

Look for the TSB in the TSB sticky.

Codes
I got the car in today. The new code is P0158 - an 02 sensor I'm told. The old code was P0138 - O2 sensor at the convertor. I'm just a bit concerned about tripping an O2 sensor everytime I pass someone while my family is riding in the car. Anyone else had this problem?
