Bose Sub Spot??

Is there any way to put a small 8" or 6.5" sub in the spot where the bose sub would go. I don't have the Bose system, but I noticed the cutout in the same spot. Has anyone done a sub in that spot? Any pics anywhere? I want more bass without having to put a huge box in my turnk.

Thanks,
Luke

Hey Luke,
You can probably stick a small sub enclosure there but the parcel shelf is rattle prone and I think you would be better of sticking enclosure elswhere in the trunk... unless you want to re-do the shelf out of MDf or something.
In addition 5th gen trunk(with folding seats) doesn't make for a good place to put a free air sub and they sound bad anyway...

I guess one could put a grille in the cut-out to make sub in the trunk sound louder.... but then you would get some road noise from the trunk. caveat emptor... custom installs are fun though

BTW topic has been discussed to death in the audio/electronics forum and a simple search would've revealed that

I remember a guy doing this, he had someone build a custom box around an 8" sub in the BOSE spot, looks real clean and nice. Check out the audio forum, not too far back.
