In my 2ooo Max SE I have a Nissan/Clarion changer. I can't get the changer to eject the magazine---I think it was put in back to front (by my wife).
Does anyone know how I can get it out, without going to the dealer.

Although I don't have an answer to your question, I was wondering if you installed your changer yourself or had the dealer do it. I'm thinking about gettting one, but I don't know how easy or hard it is to install.

if you have the OEM changer

which I assume you do, then call Clarion. its a model 737. They *might* help you get that thing ejected.

6 cd changer install

I installed an OEM 6 cd changer about a month ago. Installation took about 2 hours (this included time to run to the hardware store to get a 7/16" drill bit). Installation was simple, directions were good. Only part of directions that were hard to see was where the connectors pluged into the BOSE unit. However, all the plugs are keyed, so they will only go one way.

To get the BOSE unit out, you need to remove the vent above the unit and the trim around the console. The vent will just pull out. The console trim needs to have a screw (behind the ashtray) removed then it pops out.

Only real difficulity I had was getting the cable through from the passenger area to the trunk.

martin explain to me exactly how that Mag is stuck in the changer? was it incerted in backwords or sideways? few things to try.
Try to hold the eject button and while holding the eject button try to shake the Mag loose. When U press the Eject button do U hear any noise like if something is happining?
Try to disconnect the signal cable and just leave the power cables on the changer, then hit the eject button, Might be a negative signal comeing from the unit holding things up.
I installed a Clarion 8disk changer in a Audi a few months ago, don't remember the model but the nissan unit is similar if not the same, only the plug to the radio was differant if I remember correctly. but try these things out and see what turns up.

ditto.. the install is pretty easy. TimW helped me a lot with details of his install that pretty much walked me through the tricky parts. I probably have the old email... if u decide to take it on yourself, let me know, and I'll check my old messages.

hey xydavid, if you could dig up that old email that would be great! I'm thinking of getting one like I said earlier, and I don't want to spend more money on the installtion of it. Let me know if you need my email or give me yours cause I dont know if it's retrieveable from the site.

Sorry, man. I can't find Tim's email anywhere. It looks like I may have deleted it when I cleaned out my mailbox sometime ago. I'll look around my car stuff and see if I might have kept the installation instructions... I might have kept a printed copy.

Everything is pretty easy... the trickiest part was removing the air vents and the radio without nicking the dash. I remember using a screwdriver wrapped in a towel to help pull the air vents off... and pulling on the lip inside the vent helped a bit too. You want to be careful to not permanently scar the soft material around the vents and radio. And also when you pull the head unit out, there are some very sharp edges... cover that leather with towels!! Being careful, I was able to do everything without damaging anything.

just pay close attention

to the soft dash. use the towel around the shifter and do what the instructions tell you about the tape around the radio. When you uncover the radio and see the alledged *sharp edges*, you will think 'aw, this is nothing'. But when you actually start fishing for the plugs in the back of the radio, you'll be very happy you covered up the shift plate and plastic side pieces.

Well, I took my car in without a schedule, and although the bimbo at the desk said someone can only take a look at my jammed 6CD player if there is an apointment, and they wont order a warranty replacement one without looking at it, the SM did come out in the freezing cold afternoon to look at it, unscrewed it and ordered a replacement one for me. A much friendlier SM than the surly guy he replaced.
