Injen CAI at my feet...
Injen CAI at my feet...
Well, the Injen intake arrived today from Adventon. Despite the fact that Adventon lists the Manual and Automatic intakes separately, they are the same item.
For those of you who don't like the red couplers/hoses, they are the following measurements, so you can order the hoses/tubing in advance.
2" of 3.25" straight hose
2" of 3.00" straight hose
2" of 2.75" straight hose
11" of 3mm vacuum tube
15" of 6mm vacuum tube
16" of 15mm breather line
It is too bad, but HoseTechniques does not sell vacuum tube up to 15mm in inside diameter, so you can't replace that line from HoseTechniques.
Anybody have another source? I really want to go BLUE all around which will require replacing all the tubing that comes with the Injen. HoseTechniques also only sell the straight hoses in Red and Black for some reason. Any thoughts?

It's probably not what you're thinking but ever considered painting it? I did the same on my Frankencar tubing, you can see it all here

I'll let you know. Thanks. I like the way you painted your filter too. The Injen comes with a K&N which has red plastic all around it...so I might have to paint it too.
Re: Re: Re: Injen CAI at my feet...
The paint bonded quite well on the tubing. I did multiple coats using the can shown in the photo's (It has a nice glittery effect on it, in fact i also have the blue can which looks very close to the Majestic Blue - including the glitters)
As far as the filter casing goes, i made a mistake of just spray painting it right away. The paint didn't bond at all, so i'll have to go back and peel the paint away. At which point i'll probably sand it and apply a primer.
Let me know how it goes

I like your idea, but I'm a little concerned with how the paint will bond to the silicon tubing. The Frankencar tubing is just that canvas crap and I'm sure the paint easily seeps into the cracks and crevices to make for a solid coat of paint. I might just give it a try, though.
