Primary reason to disconnect the battery is that you will throw a CEL if you disconnect the MAF Sensor while the car is getting juice. Make sure you reconnect the MAF Sensor before reconnecting the battery.

As long as you don't turn the car on with the MAFS disconnected you are all set. I never unplug my battery.

My bad...I had the impression that the MAFS didn't like being disconnected when the car was juiced at all. Thanks.

Why do you have to disconnect the MAF sensor and the battery? I didn't have to do this when I installed both my Frankencar and Injen. My "service engine soon" light never came on.

So you did all your work in assembling the intake right there in the engine bay? I think it is much easier to assemble things if you remove the MAF unit from the engine bay. If you leave the MAFS attached, you can't take the MAF unit more than about six inches away from its source.

FYI...my patio is being utilized currently to paint the couplers and tubing for the Injen BLUE.

Yes, it wasn't that bad to install. Took a little more than a hour to do.

Do you all plan to remove your Ingen CAI's when you take your car in for service? Seems like a pain in the *ss if this is the case.

No tougher than any intake. I think the biggest hassle is putting the stock airbox back in...it is a tight fit.

Nope....I know most of the service guys at Mossy in Oceanside. They even installed my Y-pipe and intake for me on my 2K. They were impressed with my Injen intake a few days ago when I had my oil change done there.

Looks the same on both 2K-2K1 and 2K2-2K3. This is the photo of a 2K2 with a Franken intake, but that MAF Unit is the stock unit.
