Man, I was steamed. I took it to the car wash this morning, but the top looks pretty bad still. I am going to hit it with that detail spray in a bit, but might have to take it to the dealer to get it buffed out.

Matt, how did you like that dome light?? It makes such a huge difference from those crappy amber bulbs. Let me know if you can find out what lights go in the map light....I would love to change those out also.

 

...I haven't put it in yet, I am going to wait a day or two until I get my Polarg's from Greg @ custommaxima for the inside door lights and do them all at once. I will let you know if I find a bulb that will fit the click on/off map lights by the sunglasses holder... Anyone have any luck with this?

 

Wow, I just placed an order with melissa for the rsb from cattman. I must say, that was the single best ordering experience i've ever had over the internet or phone. i was told they'r eon backorder, so it would be about 10 days before my order was shipped but the service was awesome. if the bar is as good as the service from cattman, i'll be very happy. Good job Cattman performance...!

I just ordered mine today as well. It's on backorder but they said it shouldn't be too long. I can't wait to get this mod installed on my Max! For $115 shipped it was too cheap to pass up.

I moved my axle brackets to 4" away from the bend like you all say to do and I torqued everything down to 28 ft-lbs except for the upper bolts on the trailing arm brackets. Those brackets are bent pretty good now. There was just no room in there for the torque wrench and my arms were killing me. Also, I didn't want to smash the ABS lines (? not sure) that run on the top of the trailing arms. Did you run into this problem? It was getting pretty tight there. Other than that, no problems to report.

 

...Man, you are supposed to pull the brake line away from the trailing arm, attach your RSB, then put the brake lines on TOP of the brackets, not underneath! Fix that right away or you will go through those lines like a knife through butter, then you are screwed.

 

Yeah, and if you don't brush your teeth you'll get cavities!!

 

...Very funny Warren, I may sound like MOM, but where would this guy be if I didn't mention it and he cut through his brake lines and then had to make a panic stop???

 

I know man...just thought that was funny. Anyway, I really love the part now that I have been on the highway...there is a great left handed curve going from 35N to 183. WOOHOO! I can take that baby at about 80 now.

BTW, the egg came off after 2 washes. Nobody did it...I found serveral damn pidgeon nests perched in the garage and a bunch of eggs just fell off on my car. Where's my bb gun??

 

Good, glad that crap came off, and I am glad it wasn't vandalism. Then you would constantly have to worry about the punk doing it again. Now you just have a few pigeons to scare off... Yeah, with the RSB the thing I have been the most impressed with is just the great general stability feel I get while driving, things that used to make my rear end feel jittery and unstable now it just feels solid as a rock. Almost like the rear chassis area of the car has been rebuilt. I love it. It has also been very quiet, you haven't had any new noises spring up since install have you?

 

Nope, I was listening, but nothing. It was definitely that screw. Hey, when we hang out again, I need to check the bolts on my FSTB and make sure they are torqued correctly.....

The top brake line on my car is covered by a piece of metal along the trailing arm. I guess it wasn't THAT bad since I didn't put the bracket over the actual brake line. (I'm not that dumb.) I guess I'll have to work on it tomorrow after work. I need to take out the 2 bolts holding in the brake line cover and then run the top brake line over the brackets. Man I wish my garage was air conditioned. It's gonna be a hot one! Thanks for the input.

Jason,

You need to take the bolts out of the bracket that holds the brake line down. Also there is a line above the bracket that you can detach and reattach (it is attached with a small plastic piece - you can just unplug it and put the C bracket under this). After you get both C brackets over the control arms and tighten down with your fingers, reattach the brake line bracket and the line above it. THEN, torque down the plates. I redid it today and I torqued everything down except for the top bolt on the passenger side because my b pipe was in the way. I couldn't get the torque wrench in there, but I tightened it has much as I could with a regular socket wrench. That was a good workout.
