im on Grand ave [for my so cal ppl] on my way into city of industry/la puente to pick up my sister...i see this slightly modded prelude in front of me, and 1 car up and left [there are 2 lanes] i see this old 240 sx and he has gauges on the pillar and stuff, sticker from Valley Muffler and Se-R sticker and stuff on the back...there were cars around but light turns green and prelude takes off, weaving around and breaks free, and im switching left to catch him but by time i get the chance to catch him hes already too far...as im switching to the left lane, the 240sx starts switching right cuz the guy in front of him was going slow...so as im going left, hes coming right and in order to open up, i have to switch right again...there are only 2 lanes still so im thinkn he has to switch left and then go right and left again to open up...but nah...he gets in the right lane as im switching back to the right and im not flooring it, im at like 3.5k rpms now and he goes around the guy in the right lane, there was ample space but he created his own lane, and guns it...his exhaust is loud as F*** and im thinkn haha 240sx aint got S*** on me so im still not at WOT, still hovering around 4.0k rpms...and b4 i know it, hes on my *** and i cant shake him...im lookn in my mirror thinkn ok i should lose him now as i get to 4.5-5.0k but nope...and im at 90 so i let off cuz thats too fast for me on surface streets and cops are insane presence in that area and a second later the 240 comes flying by me....we let off and he ends up coming the same way im going and i pull up to Nogales and Amar and hes right next to me so he asks me what i have, im like juss intake and muffler, not even exhaust...i ask him...he says a whole nother engine...im thinkn wtf?...and he tells me 'you know the sylvia? yea thats what i got' light turns green and i make my left, he goes str8....sylvia, im not sure how fast they are but turboed? he wasnt amazingly fast, but neither am i so....

That area is known to have crazy mod cars. There is a lot of performance shops for JDM mods in that area.

 

S15 (current silvia) - 255HP turbo charged...if he has that engine dropped in...I doubt not too many car can take him....I know somebody in LA actually shipped a silvia engine from Japan, tuned to 270 to the wheel. the one u raced prob. has an NA engine....u heard any turbo?

 

i'm sure he didn't have the s15 motor. That engine is very expensive and also comes with a 6 speed. The name of the engine is an sr20det. If he has it in a 89-94 240sx and it's in stock form he's probably runnin mid to low 14's. Those cars are fast man. That's why i'm gettin one next year.

 

oh yeah the red top s13 sr20det produces like 205 hp at the flywheel. They are turbo engines.

 

yea it was a 89-94 240sx...it wasnt stock, he had exhaust and stuff but it was pretty fast...i didnt hear a turbo though, for sure not a BOV, but he might have had one cuz his exhaust was so loud i didnt hear the turbo....
