Gotta remove manifold to get to plugs??

Hi Maximas! I just removed the 3.5 VQ plastic engine cover today, to see what was underneath, and noticed the 3 spark plugs on the firewall side of the engine are under the manifold. I guess the manifold has to be removed in order to get to them. I don't expect anyone has done this work on these new 2002 engines, but I was curious if anyone has checked this out? I guess Nissan mentality is "we'll service the car for you at a modest $79/hr. labor rate"...

Secondly, where is a good place to get the 2002 Maxima service repair manual? Are there Nissan shops out there that give a discount to Maxima.org members? As you can tell, I am anxious to start modding. Thanks!

Regards,

ShysMax

Nope the intake manifold can stay on, you just have to remove the intake runnner. BTW I took my manifold off and it's pretty darn easy to do. It took me 30 minutes to take off and about 10 to put it back on.

I've put about 40 hours into polishing my intake manifold. It's comming along slowly but I still have quite a ways to go. There are tons and tons of pits in the finish so it takes for ever to get them out
