If they cut the mounting brackets, won't that make them impossible to install on another car? are they stealing the units just for the bulbs and ballasts?

BoosttotheMax..
Isn't it amazing what you have to go though just to protect your car on your property? It's not even like my car was parked on the street, I have an enclosed driveway. ****es me off! I miss driving the car so bad. Where did you buy your mock surveillance equipment?

I just found out the cost of the lights. It's amazing..$700 per light, $900 per harness. A total of $3200 just for all the necessary parts to replace.
I can't beleive the harness is more than the assembly. Damage to the car was $2200 between the door and front bumper being painted and replacing the door handle and mechanism.

Is it possible to just get a check from your insurance instead?
If so, I'd buy the Courtesy Nissan HIDs for <$1K and then get a shop to install aftermarket harnesses for $<50. Any performance and even a stereo shop SHOULD be able to do this pretty easily. If your in the NY area, Hogan(ChimpDj) could easily do this for you. I'm not sure what he'd charge you, but it sure as hell would be cheaper.
You would have ~$2K leftover. Not bad compensation for someone messing with your ride.
yeah..
I was about to call shenanigans too, but I realized thats for the harness, however long it may be, to take it back to factory fresh. Yeah, I could see the harness being $$$. Obviously, I dont mind a few splices
Im going to try to get some brackets created to work with TimW's bolts.....sooooo the metal bracket would go over the plastic tabs and would be held down by TimW's bolts
Just a thought... http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...%3D7%26s%3D134
Wouldn't these hood locks turn off a couple of the thieves out there? (For those of you who are willing to put up with the look)
