My guess is that the maxima replaces the niche of the i35 as well. IMO, that places it in between the altima and the g35. If the i35 was there, it would be too crowded. I doubt nissan can makes an i35, price it higher than the prices of the 6th gen maxima and win some sales.

If I'm not mistaken, the I35 is no longer.

The Maxima was moving even more upscale so that would have made the I35 even more redundant. I think Infiniti is going for an all-RWD/AWD lineup, while Nissan will remain FWD mainly (except for 350z). Or something like that.

yeah, i thought so, the I35 would carry a price of well over 35K if produced. Just sucks that we cant have another bad-*** infiniti designed car in the line-up, wouldve loved to see their alternative design to the Max. Oh well to the I35...

Doubt it will come to the U.S., but.....

from news/magazines abroad, 04 Nissan Teana will be replacing Nissan Cefiro (which is essentially the same as I30/I35).

Nissan Teana (04 max's brother)

Seems like they got their interior idea from Ikea?
and the exterior from Volvo (side rear) and Audi A6/VW Passat (side)?
Overall I prefer the exterior of this vehicle over the 04 max. As for the interior between Teana and the 04 Max, I'll stick to 04 max (more sporty), but with the interior quality of Teana.

Well, don't know about other countries' plan, but in Taiwan, 3.5L engine fwd has been available for some months now, and has rumor from various mags that this engine will likely to continue for the '04 Cefiro, or the new Teana.

The rear of the tenna sorta looks like a hyundai. The front seems to look very similar to an hybrid of the altima and the m45.

Infiniti is going after BMW these days and FWD doesn't fit into that picture. The I series is being discontinued.

hes right its gone they had this talk on freshalloy they objected killing the I35 because it was their "cash cow" i find that cash cows are expendable if their direction makes them more money and since it does as seen by the 53% increase in sales from last february
