Saw 04 inperson at dealer, WOW!

The pics on the net made me puke. In person, the car is unbelievable! The front end is the best part, besides the SICK interior. But there was an Altima parked right next to it, and the are basically the same car (besides the insides and the front grill), and for $10,000 more it is not worth it. I guess this is why Infiniti is doing away with teh I35, because now the Altima takes the place of the previous Maxima, and the Maxima is taking the I35 spot.

I dont know, no matter how much I try to like it, I cant. I the trunk is no where near in proportion to the rest of the car... its too short, and although lot of things are inovative, Nissans rep for many things is terrible... Also, one tried to go head to head with me, a dealer actually.. The times for those are also slow, so i didnt do anything.. When i saw what the 2k4s looked like, i bought a 2k3.. simply..

I just dropped my car off for service and saw a black SL. I expected to have a strong opinion after I saw it but I don't. The styling seems nicer than the 5th gen but I wasn't immediately drawn to it. It doesn't seem to be it's own car with such a similiar look to the Altima. Don't get me wrong I didn't dislike the car, I just didn't get hooked.

One other thing that kinda bugged me, the inside of the car smelled funny. Not a new car smell that we all love. It may have just been this car but the odor was not one I liked.

I dont like it and that front end just looks hideous it looks like a large smile. It looks ok from the back but I think the 5th gen looks better from the side and front, rolling 5th Gen Se's look good.

It might have been the sales guy. As he's showing me the car he says that this car is the only one in California right now. What an idiot. Then he says that people are putting in bids to buy the car. I was going to be a smart **** and bid like $49.00 but I decided to move on.

Just sat in 3 of them

Sat in 2 SE's (cloth) and one SL. There were 6 on the lot. One silver, 3 black, one white, one blue.
Interior is not "Cheap" looking as in the Altima. Kinda classy. Has a plush felt door lining that runs up between the glass and dash. Kinda curves all the way thru. Nice touch.
The Nav vs non NAV dash looks identical when power is off.

Only thing I worried about on the interior was the seat stitching on the SL. There is a piece of solid leather that wraps over the front edge before being stitched to the Perferated part under your butt. The stitch just looked sloppy with bulges at the edges, unless it was made to stretch or something. Still not bad....I'd want to see a couple more samples.

I looked over the dif between the SE and SL interior. Only real dif I could tell was wood trim on the SL console and doors vs Aluminum on the SE.

I see no use for the slotted sun roof. If it don't open, I don't want it. Spend the $900 on the slider!

Over all I really like the car with a few reservations about the grill.

It looks large and substantial. Kinda like a big hunkered down CAN-AM car of sorts.

Sticker on these ain't bad. As long as you stay away from NAV or the rear seat console, you can easily slide in at 30-31.5K. My 00 SE was 29.2. These have more stuff on them than my 00.

I like the new Maxima. I think the extra money is worth it, the interior on this car is awesome way better than my Alty's, not saying I don't like my interior. The Maxima's interior is definitely in a luxury class. My dealer has two right now, a blue SL and a black SE. I picked up a brochure and for all the stuff you're getting it's worth it. One thing I really thought was nice is that both the aluminum hood and trunk have hydraulic supports. If I could buy one I'd get a black SE with the five speed auto, drivers preferred package, and the BOSE system.

Wood Trim

Wood trim on the SL is only in 2 places...on the shifter console and slivers on the door.

I saw them at the ATL Show Saturday

I went down to Atlanta yesterday (Saturday) and I really really like the car. I couldn't really get in the cars.

They had two. Both Liquid Silver. One was a SL and the other an SE.

When you put your mind to it anythings possible. At least the Bose setup comes with two 8" woofers.

I saw a silver SE yesterday and I agree that it's awesome! To me it looks like a cross between a Altima and Catty CTS. I love the rear window, the rear-end and the interior. The front-end is not so bad.
I parked my '02 next to it and it seems larger. But, overall it's SWEET!!!!
