No, actually the 429 was a Ford engine. I had one in my '69 LTD. They also used a 429 engine in the Mustang Boss 429 in 1969-70.

Well, I don't know much about Fodes but, I think ford made a 429 and a 427. Isn't the Cobra 427 known as a side oiler? In my late teens I was a rigger at a boat dealer and the boss had an Allison 20' hull with a direct drive 427 Ford in it. A rocket on the water. They always called it a 427 side oiler Cobra engine. It made some really sweet sounds. I think the Ford 429 was a passanger car engine, 427 was a racing/special producton thing.

Technically there was a 428 Ford engine as well, but I think they called it a 427.

396, 427, 454 that I know of. Has anyone installed a rat motor in a 6th gen Maxima yet? Might work with a eldorado/toronado fwd set up.

Thanks in advance for the numbers
I got my 04 Max with journey package, splash guards and mats for about $34.7 out the door. By the way, I got a beautiful billet grille from a local company here in Torrance, CA. Completely transforms the look of the front end. THE TOOTH IS GONE! I'll post a picture as soon as I can. Love the car, BTW.
