Hey Guys, just ordered a 2K4 Majestic Blue Blk Leather, JOURNEY Package. Dealer told me it had to be special order. He also said it should take about 2 weeks. Does anyone know if this Car is special order, and what is the average wait time. Finally is anyone in the same boat as i am. Thanks in advance.

 

I'm not in your boat... You're in a cruise ship, I'm in the canoe manually paddling next to your ship. I ordered my 2k4 on March 16th, and have to wait until June 10th-15th to get it :/

Ah well, just a little more suffering :P

I ordered an '04 SE 6-spd on March 18 and was told today that delivery will be around June 10. Interestingly, I'm told that dealers can only order from the factory once per month and that window is always in the first 3-4 days of the month. So, I ordered on March 18 but the factory didn't get the order until early April. Siggy, did your dealer say it would be two weeks before HE could order it from the factory??

It's special order if they don't have what you want in stock and they can't locate one at another dealer. Mine got ordered the first week of April. They said it would be in mid-late May. I got a call from them 4-14-03 and they said it's scheduled to arrive the week of 5-5-03.

 

Well guys looks like my ship might be in , will keep you guys posted. Turns out, that color and option is scarse right now until nissan starts to get a bead on what us maxima divers want. Then hey will produce accordingly.

 

The dealers know every car that is coming in over the next couple of months, they showed me a list of what was coming in in July when I was looking. The list shows everything, color, SE/SL, Auto/Man, and packages. If they said it had to be ordered, and it takes less than a month, then they have one coming in already.

Don't let a dealer tell you that they can't give you as good of a deal on a car you order as they can on one that they have on the lot. The reality is that they make more money on the one that you order because it never sits on their lot (where they pay about $5/day, but usually get about $260 from the Manufacturer to cover 2 months).

They use this as a way to do 1 of 2 things-

1) They get you to pay more, which means they make more
2) They get you to buy a car off the lot, which means the sales guy gets paid today and doesn't have a chance to lose you to someone else.

Keep that in mind when you buy. If that dealer doesn't have the car, and doesn't have one coming in, tell him you are going to ask around and see if anyone else has it or has it coming in. Chances are that he will find it quicker, or he will deal more.

The dealer told me they would keep looking at what was shipping from the factory and have one diverted to them if they found one with what I picked out. As far as a deal, I got a great one from the place that agreed to order vs. the places that would "locate one." Factoring dealer cost of ordering one or buying one off the lot, you can figure what is fair/acceptable profit for the dealer and if they want business, they'll accept.

 

While Guys, finally picked it up. Love it. It is a great CAr , when you guys get yours you will see what i mean. Will post pictures soon.

Does anyone know if DVD movie will play in the dvd Navigation system in the car?. hope so will save me alote of money if it does!

 

I doubt it, I am sure they would advertise that if it did
