One Week Review

Took delivery on a SL with VDC, PPP and sunroof last week. I need just one word to describe this car - OUTSTANDING! I had a similar experience as a previous poster, didn't order the PPP but that's how it came from the factory so the dealer "comped" me on it. I traded in a 97 I30t and the difference is amazing. The ride is much smoother even with the 2" increase in rims, maybe due to the independant rear suspension, the powerplant is incredible (40% increase in HP), and the ergonomics, fit and finish, and overall styling make this automobile a great package at any price. If you are in the market for a luxurious 4 door sports car, test drive a 6th generation Maxima and you won't be disappointed.

Congrats on everything but the color.

Granted, the '04 looks stunning in black. But I stopped buying black cars fifty years ago. Just too hot in the deep south. Leave a black car in a sunny parking lot for a few hours, and the inside gets incredibly hot. And this interior heat shortens the life of all interior materials and fabrics.

Stand in a parking lot between a black car and a white car on a sunny day, and place one hand on each car. Unbelievable difference.

Even black seats are tough in the heat. I have found lighter colored seats get less hot than black.

I can't say I like the cold white on the '04 Max. My wife and I decided it is 'delivery van' white. The rich pearlescent white of older Maximas would be so perfect for the '04.

But we will stick to the silver or bronze, unless we move to a cool climate. At which time we will buy our Maxima in black.

Light, I'm up in the Chicago area and granted the car is hot when I get in now but I'm sure I won't have this problem in January ;^) . I traded in a silver car so I wanted to mix things up a bit. Whereabouts down south are you from?

ugh, white cars
I think the blue and black actually look pretty good, but I hate trying to keep dark cars looking clean, so i went for the silver. Silver also seems to show off the lines a little better.
