I'm skeptical about duals beyond the cat being worth 10hp. Anyway, I think the difference in the exhaust in front of the cat is what we're talking about when it comes to header fitment.

I ordered a K&N drop in from courtesynissan.com for 45.00. It is basically the infiniti g35 filter. You can feel the difference immediately.

I think it would be cool to add a k&n cone inside the stock airbox so it would still get air from the front instead of having the filter exposed to hot underhood air. could or would this work?

Cool, could you give give more of review once you've put it through all the paces.

I was going to get one but figured it wouldn't be a big deal, and was going to wait for a CAI, but if there is only a small gain with a CAI over this I'll keep this.

Thanks,

I heard it was a combo of intake and exhaust.

BTW, who ever posted that the V6 Altima and the 04 Max are the same, you are close. Same engine, same frame, but that is it. The body of the Altima is smaller, which may cause it to have more restrictions on the exhaust.

So do you think it makes sense that Stillen's headers would fit Altima and '04 Maxima but not 5th gen Maxima? Like I said before, I've never seen the bottom side of any of them.

I am not 100% sure either way, but I would guess that you are right. Although, there may be a restriction on space that wouldn't allow it to fit on the altima

That was posted July 30th and that was last info I've heard on them. Still waiting to see dyno results and/or another type of intake that might add more power. I don't wanna buy this intake then buy another type of intake 3 months later

That's exactly what I did... I just took out the stock air box and put the pop charger in it's place. I got mine from ultimatez.com (my friends shop). From what I know, this is the same filter for the Z. It works like a charm.

bump...any updates? I'm really curious to see the finished results, both pics and dyno's plots. I'm also curious to know if there were any CEL's or problems of that nature (ie. low idle, running rich, etc...)

We just completed the first run of the intakes we are waiting to have them powdercoated, we hope to meet up with our prototype car soon to get pictures and dyno's, but he's 175 miles from us. The price for the intake will be $150 with a chrome topped k/n and $200 with the Apexi Power Intake filter. I'm updating the site right now to reflect the new products we've recently added, it should be running within a couple days.

you haven't run dyno's yet, wouldn't it make more sense to test it before you claim a gain in horse power?

Yea I noticed that to although they are the same motor... but also the intake design along with the exhaust is what gave the 6th gen more power. anyways keep us updated on these things,

I am sure it is safe to assume that it is right, I just think it is wrong to make claims before you have tested it

Yeah I guess so. So can we order now? or if we do how long will we have to wait since they havent been dyno tested or powdercoated yet?

Yes you guys can order them starting now, we will have silver, gunmetal, black, red and navy blue powdercoated. silver will be done first then the colors mid next week. The variable intake manifold design and the engine is the same as the 2002-2003 maximas so we expect similiar if not identical gains but we will be testing that as soon as possible.

So if we just go ahead and place an order for the silver one will we recieve it sooner since we dont have to wait for powdercoating? Im really not to into having a colored intake, its there to serve a performance purpose and i could care less of the color.

Glude,
they ALL need to be powdercoated, our powdercoater just runs the silver ones a lot more often then the custom colors so we get those back sooner then the colored ones.

Also, does the midpipe make any difference, performance wise?

Thanks for the info...

Supposedly you lose lowend torque with pop-chargers. Adding a midpipe restores that lost lowend torque.
On my car I didn't notice any lowend loss. Just mad sound and car pulls like crazy.

Still waiting on the dyno results? I'd really like to see the difference with and without the mid-pipe as well.
