What im going to do is try to get a swap of headlights, have the dealer order say the SL and just put them on mine. When i was looking into buying the car, a dealership who already had lost my interest before hand told there was no difference in the stock and bi level hid's in the dp package. He said one had HID for just lows and the other had them for both. I didnt buy from him, but i wish i had gotten the right information about it because then we would have gone for the DP package as well.

I think a law passed in mid August outlawing aftermarket HID kits. You might be able to find someone still liquidating stock on e-bay. Of course, you could always buy a set from someone who stole them off a 5th gen! (ducking)

(j/k folks, I don't condone the act, and I do sympathize with those who've had there's stolen)

I called Nissan two days ago and priced a set of HID's. Hold on to your shorts. The parts guy tells me it's $665.00..............PER SIDE!!! I don't think it's worth $1300 to me but that's my opinion. My best friend owns a performance shop and his cost is 25% off that price but it's still too expensive.

OHH...I forgot to add one

it's not a shop, it's a seller on maxima.org (great reputation..just ask anyone about Don)

He has only 8000k kits so if you are interested in that you can email pm him Pearl96Max

It's definitely going to be cheaper than the websites by at least $100

I would not reccomed any aftermarket HID kits...do you self a favor and order the legit hid kits for the maxima. Most hid kits that are sold after market do not properly and the bulbs always go out. Even if you spend 600 on each side the kit will still cost you about 400 for a good one and if it doesnt fit right you are gonna have to wind up putting silicone clue all over your headlight assembly just to wind up wil headlights that do not line up.....My advice is stay with the regular and get some xenon filled bulbs with a blue tint or bite the bullet and get the real deal ones from nissan....look online for a supplier besides the dealer and check it out.
