I'm in the market to buy another car so I decided to go and check out the new Maxima. I went to a local dealership and arranged a 2 day test drive because I am good friends with the Sales Manager. He hooked me up with a base SE model with the 5-speed AT. Here are my thoughts:

Pros:
1. Beautiful interior with top-notch materials
2. Very aggressive and sexy rear end styling (love the dual exhaust)
3. Quiet ride with decent handling
4. Good acceleration but doesn't seem as fast as my 98 or 03 Max
5. You get stares from everybody!!

Cons:
1. Tranny seems to be very confused during hard acceleration
2. Front end that is hard to get used to
3. It's just a big car

So after the test drive, I decided not to purchase the Max but instead ordered a 04 G35 Sedan with the 6-speed and aero kit. It should be here shortly. Overall, the 6th gen is a very nice car but is not sporty enough for me. If I was a little older, I would for sure buy one.

 

Good report...Well, i am an old fart, just over 50 i really like the altima/max look but the Max most, which is why i just bought one...I really like the rear, and have no prob with the front grill...I personally think its a fantastik car, and will look great in the garage beside my 01 Z06.....

 

Who needs another car when you drive a supercharged Z06!!
I saw one at the track and it went up against a Viper GTS. Let's just say that the viper had no chance.

 

im also thinking of getting the 6th gen max. i have an01 right now. it's fun now, but i want a little more. and the solid rear end on my car is a pain in the twisties.

 

hey iam 27 and i preferr the max over the g35 sedan anyday, the g looks like a boot to me hahah dunno why, but kudos on the G..shoulda went max but your choice
