Holes In Front Bumper

Why Would Nissan allow their Dealers to Drill Holes into the Front of the Bumpers for the License Plate. So upset when I noticed it!! Anyone have a solution besides covering it with a Plate ?

I don't know if NY is one of them, but most likely it is... there are about 25-35 states that require a front license plate. Drilling is how about 95% of cars get their front brakets installed. The dealer isn't going to go out of it's way to rig up some new form of mounting a license plate when they can spend 10 minutes to do it the way designed.

I guess if you order a car, you could tell them no to install it, and figure a way to do it without drilling or see how long untill a cop notices. Which will probably be a long time. Most cops don't hastle new cars.

True in deed I live and NY and actually they do stop me for not having a front plate, But i found out just recently that you can go to DMV and fill out an exemption form that will alow you to not have a front plate. (Its realy for vechicles who have custom frons and plates can not be mounted.) Regardless Now I have two huge holes in front of my car Poor move on Nissan

I can't believe that you're complaining about this. If you live in a state which requires front license plates, the hole should exist (and be covered with a nice shiny license plate), end of story.

If you didn't want it, you should have informed the dealer up front so they wouldn't drill the hole for you when they do the PDI.

I just picked up a new Quest last week and the dealer ask me if I wanted the plate bracket installed or not. Apparently here in Ohio, there is talk of a new law which would no longer require a front plate (this would save the state $$$). I just got my Max about three weeks ago and at that time I was unaware of the proposed legislation, so the dealer mounted the bracket.

Of course, a car looks better w/o a plate on the front, so I was also curious to see what others have done to disguise the holes. Any thoughts guys?

I thought about trying to get some lil plugs to fill in the lil holes. I just recently got pulled over for not having a front licence plate. Ive heard that the plate is what reflects the radar if you are caught speeding so thats a reason for you to have one. Anyways I would rather pay a small ticket for no plate than to pay a large ticket for speeding and have to take deffensive driving.

Don't blame Nissan. Blame state laws and dealerships.
