Confessions of a car salesman

Hey, Gang,

Check this out--It's what a writer hired by Edmunds.com to pose as a new car salesman for several months learned about the car biz. You might find it of interest.

That was a good long read. There really were some interesting things in there.

I don't think I've ever seen a 4 square sheet. Its always been a really detailed computer spreadsheet printout.

That basically sums up most sales jobs..I totally that the internet has a huge impact of buying cars and people shouldnt go into dealerships expecting to get cars at invoice. Salespeople have to eat also.

Car salesmen .
In reality, some are very good and straightforward. I had a great sales experience when I bought my Max.

HAAA! Great story, I laughed my *** off. I sold cars at a dealership during college for a couple months, made 4K first month and $300 second month. What that guy wrote is all true. The 4 square method must be used everywhere. We called it the "heart attack" deal. If the customer didn't have a heart attack after the first round of inflated numbers, you probably had a sale.

In reality, it was probably the worst job I've ever had.
