Ruined a tire today
I got a nail in the left rear tire of my car and drove it until it blew out. Ok, not on purpose, but I couldn't tell it was low. The car handled almost perfect, until the sidewall blew out. After that it didn't handle so well
BTW, there is nothing quite like the feeling of having 3 big a$$ 18" wheels, and one little donut. That thing does not like to drive on the spare, it shimmies and rattles like a b!tch. $200+ later and the new tire was on...
The tire guy was telling me that he sees this a lot with low profile tires, the drivers don't know they are low until they blow out. I sure as hell knew when my Excursion had a flat

When you bought your car you should have gotten a warranty package for the tires when you closed in the finance office. The road hazzard warranty that comes with the tires should have covered it. I'd look into that and see about getting your money back.

The new car tire warranty protects against defects in materials or workmanship only, and specifically states that road hazards are excluded.
Sorry ...

Ahh, the beauty of having a full size spare. I had a similar experience in my 98 max and from then on swore that the next would have a full size spare. So I bought mine with HLSD which happens to have the full size spare.
Anyway, sorry to hear about the experience. I'm dreading the day I have to buy a new set of tires. Ugh $200 + per?

Acutally I was correct in my statement. What I said was:

SEmy - I was reacting to the next statement in your original post, which said:
The road hazzard warranty that comes with the tires should have covered it.
I think lots of people think the tire warranty covers stuff like this, and they're really disappointed (or mad) when they find out it doesn't ...
Didn't mean to misquote you - merely to clear up any misconception others may have.

Mike,
NP. I agree. I think the tire information should be a bit more clearly relayed to the individuals whom purchase brand new vehicles. That sucks to spend upwards of $30k on a car, drive for a week or so, run over a nail and then have to shell out another $200+ for a new tire.
