Sunroof wind deflector

where is the best place to buy a sunroof wind deflector and what type do you guys recommend, screw in or the 3m tape?

does it really help with wind noise?

The dealer will sell me the screw in type for $60.

I got mine from the dealer ...have your salesman pick it up for you.

Regarding wind noise - Mine seems a little more noisy with the deflector installed (screw in type). This is certainly the case when the sunroof is closed....I have to keep the shade closed or the noise drives be batty

I gave mine to Kloogy. I gave the one from my AE to...I forget who.

I couldn't tell that it did much except screw up the lines of the car. If it reduced noise it was a subtle difference. I'm not the only one to give them away though. I've seen posts here and the 5th gen forum offering them free to a good home.

Hey... forget bout the stupid wind deflector. It's just another example of a product being sold to solve a 'problem' that doesn't exist.

Spend your money on something of value.

I disagree

I live in CA and as such, the weather stays upbeat most of the time. I like driving with sunroof open (not tilted). No problem driving around town, but wind noise was a definite issue prior to installation of wind deflector. I still get wind/road noise, but whereas before I had to blast stereo (20+) I can now hear radio (and conversations) without much strain.

Is there still noise? Definitely...

Is the deflector an improvement? Definitely...

ok that is the answer I am looking for.....thanks.

any improvement in the noise will help.

May I ask if you got your deflector at the dealership or did you buy it online? and if you got it online, where is the best place?

i actually purchased from dealership, and had them install. cost me $115 total i believe. i figured any savings i could get from online/self install would be eaten should it loosen and scratch paint or worse detach and hit a car behind me

i figured i had some recourse by buying from dealer should it present any problems with sunroof functionality.

i.e.

dealer "well the problem is the deflector"

me "i bought from you, and you installed it, soooo..."

hope this feedback helps...
