Flashing Airbag Light

Out of nowhere today, my airbag light has been flashing. I have no idea what could have caused this to happen. I havent made a dealer appointment yet. So if any of you can provide any insight to this topic i would greatly appreciate it.

My 2k1 did that. About drove me crazy. The dealer replaced the airbag control, spiral cable, spiral cable again, airbag, airbag control again... I just traded it in. That fixed it.

did u have a passenger when the light came on?

sometimes a passenger in the front passenger can trigger the airbag warning
light when he/she leans on the side of the seat. that deactivates the side
airbag of the passenger seat for the safety reason.

hope you had a passenger... otherwise, you'll have to go to the dealer...

What VTmaximaVT said could be the cause; however i've only heard of that happening on Hondas/Acuras, and even then the light comes on and then goes out after a few seconds. It does not continiously flash.

When the airabag lite on my 98 GLE came on, the dealership diagnosed it as a faulty side air bag module (on the drivers side). They replaced it under warranty and the flashing light was gone.

All airbag related issues are covered by the major components warranty (at least they were for 1998 model year).

My airbag light has been flashin since I got the car. I just never thought anything about it because it came with the car... I'm going to the dealer at 2 this afternoon for an oil change and checkup. I'll say something to my dealer about the flashing airbad light and see what he says.

i've had a flashing air bag light on my '04 SE... i realized it after i drove it home from the dealer.. long story short it turned out to be a wire under my passenger seat that was unplugged.. took 3 visits, numerous part orders at one dealer who couldnt figure this out and 20 minutes at this other dealer to finally resolve this issue.. i def recommend a visit to the dealer
