Can you still use the steering wheel controls if you get an aftermarket dash? I don't care about the display part I just don't want to lose my steering wheel control (yes I am that lazy)

LOL! I run my own business, so I have no boss to impress. This means that whenever I'm bored, I log on. Glad I can be of help. Nice to have a friend on the org. A Korean living in Socal driving a 2K4 Maxima SE... geez, even our user names are similar!

Just wanted to update anybody that wants to know. I called Metra today and they told me that they haven't released the dash kit yet because they were trying match the factory color. They have that task accomplished as of today. So, it shouldn't be too much longer until it is released. They wouldn't give me an actual release date but, I'm guessing 2-4 weeks.

Hey Guys, Just installed my Kicker s12L72 2ohm L7 Sub, sounds great, put in a Kicker KX500.2 amp and a fosgate 1 farad capacitor. What you guys need to do if you plan on adding subs, PAC sells a module that plugs into your Bose stereo without NAV. This will give you a set of RCA's so you can add your amp, also gives you a remote wire output so you dont have to search your entire electrical system for a amp remote turn on.

I talked to my distributor today and he said that he can order the dash kit...So, he's placing an order and he expects shipment by wed/thurs. He also has the Pioneer AVIC-N1 if anyone is interested.

I'll let you guys know as soon as I hear something.

I spoke with Crutchfield today and they told me that this doesn't work for the 2004 Maxima. Darn, I was hoping to retain my factory wheel controls when I change my head unit.

I just ordered the Metra dash kit (99-7404) and the wiring harness (70-7551). I'm putting in a new head unit (KDC-MP625) with a Kenwood Music Keg (KHD CX-910), but I want to keep everything else factory. Metra told me that this wiring harness is the right one for the 2K4 Maxima with Bose, but it's a new part so we'll just have to wait and see. I'll post some pics after the install!

Kenwood (KDC-MP625): http://www.kenwoodusa.com/product/pr...productId=2566

Kenwood (KHD-CX910): http://www.kenwoodusa.com/product/pr...productId=2373

That's the Street Concepts Maxima. This was done way before the Metra kit was even available and the head unit is in there by a custom dash fitting. You can get more details here. http://www.freshalloy.com/site/cars/...pts/home.shtml

Prepare to be happy. What your looking for is the second item from the bottom. I'm just waiting for a day off to install mine with my MP3 player. http://www.pac-audio.com/products/aai.htm

I've installed the PAC adapter. Got it connected to my IPod. Sounds much better than using a tape adapter. It's very easy to install. Connects directly to the satellite input and audio wiring harness(for power) on the back of the stereo. I paid $105 for it, but CobyMoby is selling them $89.95 shipped. He mentions that in
this thread.

I've ordered the OEM1 from him to install an extra amp. If there's interest I'll post pictures of the install process.

definitely post pictures Maizor, at least take them so you can post later. SOMEONE will want to do this in the future and will want images, and as we've seen with other mods, pictures are VERY helpful to everyone, even if just to make everyone else jealous!

STOP!!!!!

You can add RCA inputs with a PAC AAI-NIS, we have the new units in stock. They are the latest revision. If you have been reading on the G35/350Z forums the first batch was buggy. These are the revised edition.

Bryan
