fog light out
fog light out
Iv had my car for almost a year w/ 14k, and one of the fog lights burnt out already. dealer wants to charge me $99 for it to be replaced. Well lets just say its still burnt out... any ideas on how to fix or get a new light?
Do you mean that the bulb inside is burnt out, or is it the whole fog light assembly that needs to be replaced (usually due to cracked glass)?
The bulbs themselves are covered under warranty for 40,000 miles? (I know its 60,000km in Canada, not sure about miles). I've had my DRL bulb replaced, took a couple hours of shop time, and no cost to me.
If the dealer is not covering the replacement of a defective bulb under warranty then you have a serious issue with that dealership. Unless the breakage is due to damage from an accident or impact with a curb or something like that.

Mine went out back in February. At the time I had a great Service Rep and he had to order the part. But, he told me up front how long it would take and called me immediately when it came in. They fixed it with in 1 hour and I was on my way.
Man, I sure miss that service rep. He was on point. Now I'm left with crappy service that never calls to verify that the part is in or still coming or anything. Just sitting at home for 3 weeks with "SUCKER" on my forehead.

When my DRL bulb went out my SA said he wasn't putting the Nissan part back in there. He said they were very low quality bulbs and he didn't want to go through all the labour to replace the bulb ever again. He bought a long life bulb from a local supplier.

Both of mine burned out and I've had my Max since March 2003 (21000+ Miles) Dealer replaced both without question. I just had to wait for them to order the replacements. My only concern is that my 98 never had one burn out berfore it was totaled at 90k miles and these are not so easy to replace yourself.

it's an H3 light available from any local auto parts store cost is about $3. Now putting it back in is a job took me 45 minutes to do just the drivers side. I say screw the dealership when I can do it myself (atleast on simple maint. like that) but that's my opinion only
