Couple more things with my 04 SE

I've had the car now for 2.5 weeks and have ben driving like an idiot lol (1000 miles already) 1st problem was the sunroof deflector hitting the glass. Got that fixed. Just the other day, I noticed the glove box door itself is misaligned. (the pic on the TSB sorta shows the sides and what not lined up. It's not alot but it's there. I also just noticed the shimmy in the front end around 50-60mph. Are there any cures for this? If I bring it to Nissan what will they do to fix it, if anything?
Also since I just hit my 1000mile mark, when should my 1st oil change be? The info screen was set at 1000mi and started to blink today lol freaked me out.
Other than these small problems, I love the car and so does everyone else! I wouln'd t get rid of it for anything.

There's a bunch of posts about the shimmy and ways to fix it, but the real fix seems to be to adjust the rack friction (to tighten it). Some people have gotten rid of it by having the brake rotors turned or replaced, and others say it's a tire problem. Me? I haven't had it so I can't comment except to say I believe in the rack friction fix. If you're lucky, your dealer will know about this, but be sure to mention it.

Theories abound about the first oil change. We used to always believe the first oil should come out by 1,000 miles, but that was based on the "Old Days" when a lighter weight oil was used for breakin. Most engines are darn near broken in from the factory nowadays, thanks to much tighter tolerances and better machining and manufacturing of parts. Still, you'll get a little honing of metal parts, and it's a good idea to change it a little earlier the first time. I woudn't go past maybe 2500 miles, but it isn't gonna hurt to dump that oil now if you want to.

Thanks Mike, I appreciate it. I'll have to do a search on the shimmy. Worse comes to worse, I'll bring it to the dealer and let them have a look at it. It'll be warrantied anyway. I never buy 1st generation cars when they change things (ie: the 6th gen) just because of small quirks like these. You know what though, I wouldn't get rid of it for anything. Thanks again.

Your salesman must really care about ya or has the different philosophy than mine (like the opinions on here) he set mine for the 3750. After talking to many mechanic friends, I changed mine at 1180 (wanted to @1000). better safe, and for just $10 worth it to me. $3.50 Nissan filter on Jerry Rome Nissan site and $6.85 gal Castrol GTX at Advanced Auto. I'll change 2 more times (3000 and 6500) then Mobil 1 syn switch @ 10k.

I am fortunate to not have any TSB's (yet) due to mid year changes, I guess.

I've got the glove box alignment problem too. I also noticed my emergency break and console door (slightly) are misaligned.

Anyone else see this?

I'm living with it for now - don't have the time to bring & leave at the dealer.

You don't have to live with the glove box problem. It's easy to fix. Check the post here.
