Yup. The deflector is jamming up. You can get around this by repeatedly pressing the sunroof tilt button (not the slider, the other one). Just make sure that deflector doesn't bunch up. This is a known issue.

There is a TSB on this if it is the deflector. See the TSB post and goto the link that starts with theowensfamily. You should see it there.

I've had the same problem for almost a year. Its been fixed, but only worked for a whopping 20 mins. It would hit the deflector then bounce back. Then you use the tilt button to close it the rest of the way.

This is very frustrating but i did find an easier way to deal with it. When you are closing it with the slider right before it comes in contact with the deflector hit the tild button. Then press it again and it should close on the first try.

Until it is completely fixed, i hope that helps.

you don't have to close it with the slider at all.... I don't to save wear on it, instead I push the close button on the tilt selector, then when I want to open it I push the slider one position over and then to where I want it.

Given what Mystery_Man said I would say just use the tilt open button then use the tilt close button after it sits in tilt open mode. But take it to your dealer and get it fixed.
