Does Anybody know how to take apart the Armrest?

I am trying to run my audio cable from my pac converter up through the armrest area, but after I get to the cupholder area, I run into difficulty because I am not sure how to get in there without drilling. I know the armet area has a groove for wires, that is what I currently use, but if I could come up from the bottom, I would eliminate that wire being shownn. Is there anywhere to take out the inner felt stuff? ANy pictures? thanks.

You could probably drill it and then pass the wires up the side of the center console. You'd be able to tuck them in there till you got back to the storage compartment. Maybe use a coathanger to fish a small string through from the compartment and out to the side of the center console.

yea, right now I have the wires hangin out on the side of the cupholder on the passenger side, I was hoping they could fish up to the bottom of the armrest somehow, in the area where the lighter is. you would think that armrest felt material would pop out somehow, but i couldnt figure it out.

If you look closely you will find that the housing that holds the rear vents will pull away from the center console. Pull upwards and out from the bottom of the housing. You will then have access to the black compartment. To remove the armrest, first remove the 2 small screws that hold the underside of the armrest, then there are three large screws that attach the armrest to the center console

I looked at this quick today, tried pulling up and out by gripping onto the vents with some padded pliers(towel wrapped around plies) no luck, has anybody else tried? it looks is if its snapped in my some dowels on the left nad right of each vent.

Okay, I have have been out of town since I posted the first reply and therefore I cannot check out the procedure. I have removed the complete section that holds the vents. ( Do not try to remove just the vents!) I do remember that if you pull outward from the bottom of the panel, where it meets the carpet, it will pull apart from the center console. I cannot remember having to remove any screws. There are screws on each side of the console that are revealed after this section is removed. I will be back in town on Saturday and will check this again.

I just attempted to separate the rear vent housing assembly from the console by grabing both sides of the housing at the bottom and pulling back and it worked!

If you slide the seats forward and look at both sides of the console at the rear you will see a seam that is about a inch or so from the rear of the console. I just grabed this with my fingers and pulled back.
