I'm a new 04 Max owner

Well I did it traded my 02 alti on a 04 max. Payments went up $100 but what the hell. The stealer made a bunch of money I'll bet, they said $25,770 was cost then they added $200 to that price. Gave me $10,500 for the Alti trade.(2.5-s) Oh well, it's done. The Alti had 55,000, needed tires, brakes ect. I Went to the local stealer for the 2nd time because I couldn't deal with them on the Alti 2 years ago. Went in to ask a Question about why the headlight bulbs I instald were not bright enough. Shorty I saw an 3.5 se (smoke) and I had to drive it. It was bad *** but when I asked to drive the Max, the bomb. Made the deal and we are in love with the MAX. Bet they don't have many after market parts for the 04 yet.

fleetwood - the smoke is hot. It (and coral sand) were added Feb 6th, almost a year after the '04s debuted. Coral sand is languishing, but smoke peeled rubber from day one.

You might not get comments on your post as soon as usual, as this forum had a crash back on Aug 6th, and many regular posters don't realize it is back, bigger and better than ever.

Enjoy your new beast!

Fleetwood, aftermarket parts are available for the 6th gen, but choices are limited. What are you looking to do? It's darn good to have the forums back up. Doug, thanks for all the hard work and personal sacrifice to keep this going.

The Maxima is a surprisingly excellent vehicle, and you're gonna love yourself for getting it. And I agree ... smoke is a sharp color.

Congrats!

Yep the smoke looks good, it looks alot like the Charcoal Grey on the 89-94 Maximas which was a sharp popular color then.

Thanks to all. I can't take time to reply to all but this one I will. As for what mods I want to add is a long list. I don't have the money right now because I bought the Max last week. I do need to get a tent done soon. Maybe seat covers, spoiler, window visors I know, the visors look goofy but they work grate. Edify, that's weird, Doug must be a modarator here or something. That's my name too. I'm a

I ordered seat covers for the back and am very pleased. They are made of a soft demin and are very custom. 8 pieces that fit like a glove for only $127. www.seatcoverxpress.com

Another new Max owner here... Just saying hello...

I lurked for a bit before the big crash, never got around to posting.

New '04 SL owner here... Smoke as well. Beautiful car. I do have some gripes with it -- I posted about them on max-world -- but overall I think it's a great vehicle.

Plenty of juice under the hood, and I'm also looking around for some mods... not too sure about the Trenz grill, but I'm reading up on everything that's available, especially performance mods...

What I'm seriously looking at is adding XM into the car myself (dealer was asking for too much, especially when you look at how much the part actually costs!), as well as somehow putting some bluetooth into the thing so I can use my phone via the speakers -- but I don't know if that's possible.

Other than that, I'm just gonna hang around and soak up on all the good info...

They gave me the locking lugs but that's about it. Had to order some floor mats They also said they would sell them to me at cost. $80.

Have you tinted yet? I checked into it here local and they wont $189.00 life time and they have regular tint and they have platinum (wirror) for $200. That might look cool with smoke.

No tint yet... I talked to the guys over at The Art of Tint here in NY (a pro shop that does excellent work) and they want $225 for the Max. They're charging the same for my Benz, even though it has less glass (it's a coupe) because they have to remove the door panels and replace the weather stripping with felt so it doesn't scratch up the tint. Like I said, a real pro shop, so I don't mind paying a little extra...

Still looking to do some stongard from a local installer as well... I was quoted almost $400 for both bumpers and the mirrors. I figure it's well worth it since I do a lot of highway and winter driving -- a lot of crap on the road to mess up your paint.
