Fog Lights

Next week I have a dealer appointment to replace both burned out fog lights. This will be the third time for each side. Is anyone else having repeated problems with their fog lights? Are those of you who are personally replacing your own bulbs to some other type of bulbs doing so because of this problem? I don't want to have to pay for this after the warranty period.

Thats a strange problem. I'd make sure to take a very close look at the housings. I had fog light bulbs burn out quickly on my last car. Funny thing was, it was always when it was raining or right after. Turns out there was a small hairline crack in the housing. I fixed it with some "Goop" and never had an issue again.

Check the inside of the housing for debris. That would be your first clue that it is not completely sealed. It should be spotless in there if its sealed properly.

I would have them check for a short and see what bulbs the dealer is putting in. Personally, I do not think it is a bulb problem. Might be a ground problem. Curious, how long are they taking to swap out the bulbs as far as man hours and labor.....I know it is warranty coverage, but wondering how long you are waiting at the dealer each time to replace the bulbs? One time, I could say bad bulb, second and third time...thinking electrical prob that needs to be looked into. Just my 2 cents.
