I just bought a 2004 Maxima and determined that the car is pre-wired for satellite radio. I would like to know where I can buy the factory tuner kit so I can use the factory radio. The site that exists Grubb early in this post is no longer valid does anyone have another place to buy from?

However, there is plenty of wiring available if you wish to splice together. Tuner works great. Asking $150 plus S+H.

Keep in mind that this is the tuner for the stock radio. If your car is not pre-wired for satellite, then you will have to get the wiring to hook it up as well. If it is wired, the wiring is located in the trunk near the speaker deck.
Would this work in a 2004? Also, is it still available?

It would have but I actually just sold it last week, sorry!

Have you tried calling Grubb's to see if they still have them for sale? I am pretty sure that it was a dealership in Texas. You may try looking them up to see if they can help you out at all.

How do u run the antenna wire down to the trunk. I'd like to mount the antenna in the back rear deck. Currently I have it mounted in the corner of my cash and the signal still cuts out.

It is best to mount it to the back of the roof. The hardest part was running the wiring through the rubber stripping on the top part of the glass, then remove the trim piece on the side of the window (one screw near the trunk and a couple clips to get that off) then run it throught the upper carpet in the trunk and plug it in to the tuner.

You should be all good after this!

It should be pre-wired. I think in the drivers door jam it should say if its prewired.

I might have a unit for sale as well... I just threw a rod in my max this weekend.

Satellite Radio

I recently bought a low mileage 2006 Maxima that is pre-wired for satellite. I was looking online and the cheapest kit I could find for the tuner was almost $300. Does anyone have any that are no longer needed? Also, does anyone know if the Sirius vs XM really matters anymore? I have a lifetime Sirius subscription that I would want to transfer over to this but I don't want to lose Howard 100 if it only can get the old XM signal.

Thanks!

My '08 maxima has XM factory-installed.
Hit the XM button and turn it to channel 1.
It will give you the radio code number.
Goto XM Radio website and sign up.
http://www.siriusxm.com/
It will ask you for the radio number.
Wait a few minutes and your radio will be activated.
I believe you get 3 months free.
The last 'special' they had is $5/month for 5 months.....
