Viper 791 or Clifford Matrix3.5

Please post your opinions on both of these units. im going to be making a purchase on 1 of them within a day or so and would like some feedback for the 6th gen max owners. as well as what extra options do you all have and use with the alarm/remote start combo.

I've got the Viper 791 Remote start with the trunk option and back up Battery. I had the Cliff Matrix RS3.5 on my 02 max and I must say...they are the same exact thing the only difference is the remote size is more slender with the Viper. Didn't Viper or DEI buy out Clifford and make the Matrix under the Viper? In any regards I bought both alarms and installed them through Bestbuy and am more than happy with both of them!

Thye are both owned by DEI and pretty much exactly the same. I bought the Clifford because the remote looks cooler, that's it.
As for the remote start, it's great, pre-cooled in the summer and pre-warmed in the winter....too bad you can't get the steering wheel all warm before you get in. God, I must sound like a spoiled brat right now!!
If you don't care about the remote, go with which ever is a better deal.

thanks bigcat and jsmith. i knew jsmith had the 3.5matrix but wasnt sure how to get ahold of ya. i just got rid of my 04 and got the 05 for 29 more bucks a month, GREAT upgrade. just cant shake the shimmy deal. soon a recall for a new rack damper will be out for us FREE of charge. as for other things. i got my x50 passport blue nicely hardwired up. not like others up in the mirror. cause there is NO and i mean NO 360 degree coverage like that. back window very small to see from up near the rear view. mine is right above the stock alarm led. looks great. with mute button hiding in the cubby where the nav dvd player is.

NEXT UPGRADE. people in the USA should consider a city light in the spot where the driving lights are on the max in canada. would look SICK!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, like I did!!! I was so close to dropping over $700 into getting the 791XV @ Best Buy! Then I went right down the street to Circuit City and saw that they had the Code Alarm CA-645 (w/ the very same features both the Clifford and Viper systems offer) for $440 installed! And it works wonderfully! I plan on adding the 4-window up/down module next week and the GPS internet tracking option later on down the road.

But, for what it's worth, after doing my research on the web and asking around, all these high-end remote start/security alarms pretty much do the same thing. As jsmith said above, it all comes down to what brand name you prefer and what functionality you want w/ your LCD remote. Either way you go, I'm sure you will be very satisfied!

My two cents!
