Injen CAI

Quick question for all the Injen owners out here. I just got mine in the mail yesterday and was reading through the instructions for the install. It states to remove the front bumper during the process! Did you do this, or can this be avoided? I had an injen CAI on my 2k2 and never had to remove the bumper, this just seems like a pain to have to do each time it goes back to the dealer. Your thoughts?

I haven't installed mine yet, but I read in the forums that you don't need to remove it. This is the only fact I know, until I go install the thing for myself.

Where did you read that at as I just scrolled through but didn't see anything? Either way I plan on putting it in after practice this morning and I'll let you know what I come up with.

OK I just finished the install, it took me a little over an hour total and was very simple. Yes, you have to at least loosen the bumper. To do this I just seperated the molding in the driver's side wheel well and removed 2 screws connecting the bumper to the front end itself located by the headlight. I then removed the 2 screws holding the bottom molding to the bumper and I was able to work with the space it gave me by pulling on it a little. You have to do this to get the bottom resonator out and to access the 2 vibration screws holding the resonator in place. I removed everything pretty much together and then pulled the resonator and the front snorkel. I'll get some pics up later this weekend.

Yeah you don't even have to remove the bumper. Just the wheel well liner. Or the first few screws holding it on as BigCat44 did.

I took the wheel off the first time I installed it. That way I could see exactly what I was working on. After you know where everything is (bolt up inside holding resonator on) it's much easier.
