Answer for HID 2005/2004 Maxima

Hello Maxers I am back!!!! If you go to my existing thread you will find where I bought a 05 Maxima without xenon. If you bought a 05 Maxima without xenon, what you have is the 9012 HIR...Yes HIR!!!! There are no existing plug and play HID kits out there but WAIT!!!!! There are a few small companies that will retrofit your current headlight assemblies. I ordered my kit from HIDtech.com and I had a local company that I didn't know existed in Texas which is HIDRETRO.com to do my retrofiting. I am very excited!!! I am new to this and even the posting bit but give me a few minutes and I am going to try to post the pictures from Liep (HIDretro.com). Wednesday when we do the install I will take some after pictures....... Grab the Jim Beam and have a toast with me Gents...I mean fellow Maxers!!!! By the way when you look at the pictures my light assembly was not painted gold...that was the color of his room. But attached should be 9 pics. Wednesday will be the meat and potatoes w/gravy. Someone tell me how to post pics from my desktop. I didn't see how to do it from this forum.... (Sorry)

If I did this correctly here is my link on cardomain to view my pictures. The cost of the install was $300 and I paid $449 for the new projectors. http://members.cardomain.com/mmotown. On cardomain there should be 9 pics. I put the remaining pics on a page two but I don't see where it was initiated.

HOLY DOLLAR BILLS BATMAN!!!

You paid $779 for HID's! That is just insane. It would have been much less expensive using a 9005 kit. However, I will say that the work done looks good.

Just my opinion so please do not take offense.

Congrats on the lights.

Well no one I knew knew how to convert a 9005 kit etc. Even if I bought the ballast etc from a junk yard I was still looking at about $1200 or a little less. I am not a mechanic type person and I work out of town so when I want something done I need it to get done and not let people experiment with my time and my car. I enjoyed the process of researching, initiating, and completing my project. What would have been insane is letting the dealership outfit me with Xenon. However by Friday I will have pics posted with the lights on etc. I appreciate the compliment.

They look nice....but WAY too rich for my blood. Now, if I can just find some wrecked Maxima Xenon lights cheap.....time to Frankenstein and see what happens.

Now, if I drove the highway at night alot or did alot of night driving......I could justify the price. I just never drive that much at night and the stock lights even non-xenon work pretty well for me.

Wish the damn headlights were alot easier to get to though. Seems now a days, if you have a headlight burn out on the freeway, not like the old days just a flashlight, pop the hood, replace bulb, 1 min...done.

congrats on the lights. I too just purchased xenon kit.

Audi projectors, philips 4300k d2s bulbs and ballasts. should be coming in anyday. they had a delay with my order. blah! I paid 370 for everything shipped to me. I just have to install them (should be fun. I'll end up cracking my headlights..lol)

is it just the picture, but why do your headlights look like they have gold in it?

TONIGHT I have just delivered my first philips 4300k d2s bulbs and ballasts and my twins are just beautiful. I drove around tonight for about 1 1/2 hrs on the backroads of TX checking out my brightness. I may have spent $750 total but I did not have to buy the complete Nissan package ($4k)to get xenon. When you look at my car do you see an Audi or do you see a Nissan. Who knows until I pass you!!!! I am very pleased with my purchase and I will have the pics adn of your truely Thursday night. Boy does the Beam (Jim Beam) give me a serious buzz!!!! Anyway Maxers I need to get some sleep. I appreciate all of you participating in my delivery tonight. Boy!!!! Don't the twins look nice when they are powering up!!! Before I go would you believe someone had the nerve to flash me tellin me my bright were on? Then I showed him they weren't on. (By the way my lights were aligned well)............................................. .................................................. ..Good night....................zzzz

Celebrating the birth of the 4100K Twins ...... Jim Bean in my hand... a proud father:

This is the complete retrofit process from Liep at HIDRETRO.com. The 05 Maxima will be updated on his site later this week. Meanwhile for all of you Maxers looking for a retrofitter, Liep is the man!!!! I will have additional pics that we took after watching HERO starring Jet Li. Enjoy.............

Liep is located in Dallas, TX and is ready to take retrofitting to another level.

btw, I am highly pleased with my D2S ECE Audi RS6 projectors but I have been shown tonight that I do not have the top of the line projectors that are out there on the market; the new Acura TL '04 projectors... so be looking for my new thread which would be called the ultimate HID that I will have installed and my current projectors will be up for sale for the newbies in HID.
