Bose - '96 v. '05

Had a '96 SE for 9 years, and just picked up a new 05 SE Smoke/Black. Absolutely love it. But one thing I noticed, the Bose sound system in my '96 was a lot better than the one in my 05....sounded a lot more clear and sharp. The 05 sounds muffled. Anybody else notice this, or is it that I had my 96 way too long.....

Hmm, I have a '97 currently along with my '04 and I think you might need to adjust the EQ a little bit or something. The '04 does have a buildup of midrange frequencies that gives it that kind of muddy sound but you can get rid of it by adjusting the bass/treble settings. In my opinion the new system is superior but everyone has a different ear

No, the 6th Gen Bose system sucks. It lacks bass and punch, and the midrange can get muddy. My 2000 sounded decent for a stock radio. This is the one thing about this car I would change.
