CD Player Skipping

I've seen this CD player thing on this site in the past but didn't have a problem with mine at the time. Now its starting to skip on me and all the dealer can do is order a new one but guess what, its on backorder. So for the time being, i've got to listen to this thing skip every day. Replacing the CD player with another skipping one isn't the answer. Nissan needs to get some better ones to replace them with. Are the 05's having any CD player issues yet?

it stopped working like three months ago, and I was using my Ipod since
the tape player was still working. sadly...my Ipod got stolen during trip to las vegas. now i have to go to dealer to get it fixed. i'm so lazy...

I think there's a new version of the CD player which has fixed the skipping problem, at least, that's what I've heard from people who have gotten their CD player replaced. I need to do this too (also lazy).

Wish Nissan would jump on the bandwagen and have it play MP3 files.

In my attempt, I burned a disc with MP3's on it, it would show the seconds on the digital display but no sound. Head unit does not have the MP3 decoder.

Other than that, the stock sound system, non Bose, works pretty good for me......granted, I have a 600 watt amp and single 12" sub in the trunk.

Once I add the XM receiver from Grubbs....I am set. For now I have a XM Roady hooked up, I can tell you though, with Sat radio, do not listen to CD's much any more.

It's due to condensation on the lens and the cd...be patient and let things warm up... Some say the fix is a new radio, but I think it's more a heat thing...Good luck

mine had nothing to do with the temperature.
mine usually skipped during those last three or four tracks. it skipped whenever it felt like to skip, even after 6 hours of drive...

good thing it completely stopped working, otherwise i had to sit in my car with
the technician and listen to the CDs till it skips.

Mine is definitely due to the cold. It's 100% fine from april to october, but once the temp drops below 40, wham, skipping. And blasting the heat is NOT an acceptable solution. I should be able to listen to CDs whenever I want, not whenever the car has been warm for sufficiently long.
