intake filter

intake filter

how often are you suppose to clean the filter (CAI Filter). and how do you clean it? blow on it? hehe or i can use a static cloth or something to just get the dirt out?

Visually inspect it, the sandier areas get more junk in them like the desert. You can clean the K&N ones with a hose, and a recharge kit. Let dry and DO NOT OVER OIL before you put it on. Do not use a high pressure hose on it either. Cloth will do nothing to clean it. Hope this helps.

I clean mine every 3-5k miles. Try using K&N filter recharger kit. Easy instructions.

Do you get that much sand in it from the beach down there? Hell, I was in Tucson AZ for 5 years and I cleaned mine every 10K or so.....they did not get dirty that often.

Another hint is to have a spare filter to use if you have the money to drop....they are not that expensive, so when you clean one and let it dry and re-oil, you can swap the spare on so you can drive while the other is drying out. It is winter now and sometimes that takes a while to dry in the sun.

No not really, just very picky about a lot of things!
