22" wheel and Tires

yeah you can put the 22's on the max. i have 22's on mine and it doesnt rub at all. i now have an airbag suspension on my max with front back side to side and pancake. when i lower the car all the way it looks so ****in sexy with the wheels all nice and tucked into the wheel wells. my car rides a lot better to because when i first got the 22's on stock suspension, it was a little harsh. i wish i knew how to post pics but if you have any other q's, let me know.

as far as the brakes go the car is fine now but i know there will be more wear and tear on the brakes because of the added weight of the rims but for now the shop said it would be ok. i eventually want to upgrade my brakes and as far as rubbing, it doesnt. steering wheel cut all the way and nothing, no robbing issues. i think this has to do with the fact that the max has such a big front wheel well, hence the big gap with stock wheels. i went with kaotik finesse wheels that are 22 x 8.5. i was told i could have gone with 9's but i would have to mold the lip of the wheel well. as far as prices being the same, you need to look a little more into this because the only rims that i found into my price range that was including wheels and tires was between $3k-4k, all the rest were like 5 or 6 grand. brands like lorenzos and other top brands. go into superbuytires.com and put in the advanced search for wheels 22x8.5, not that much comes up but you can see my wheels there and other wheels.

they look great. I'll probably wait till the winter weather passes to pick them up. Also, I've noticed that on a lot of rims,(not yours, just bringing this up) the outside of the rim is chrome plated and the inside of the rim isn't. What's the reason for doing this? Is it just on cheaper rims or maybe easier to clean brake dust off? It's hard to tell when you look at rims online if they've been made this way

nny max im running a 255/30/22. it does make your speedo off a little bit but youll live. i dont know about going 120 with 22's. i personally have not done it since i put the rims on but maybe somebody else can answer that. i dont think it would be too safe to go that fast with such big wheels. but maybe im wrong.

the surface of the rim that faces the outside of the car is plated chrome, but the inside which surrounds the rotors is left undipped and resembles a flat(no gloss) metal surface. I don't know if the link to these rims clarifies anything. Notice how the surface facing you is clearly chrome, and the inside of the rim is dull and unfinished. I've seen this up close on rims before, so it's not just image distortion. Let me know if the link doesn't work. This is for the Carre CS-2 rim, click on View Bigger Picture to see the back of the rim better.
