Arrrgh what with this 9012 bulb...

Ok, i've given up on getting HID for my car... too expensive and i dont have the time, but i still wanted to spice up the lights a little by changing the bulb color... well nobody makes 9012 bulbs. Is there something im missing here or is there another type of bulb that fits plug n play? I've heard about 9005 but im not sure... Anyone have any info on this? You guys are awesome! Thanks

The 9012 is the stock lamp. It's made by GE. As far as lumens the best bet aside from HID is going to be the 9011 lamp. You mentioned that you would like the color of the lamp to change. Any 9006 should fit without any alterations. However, it will not be nearly as bright as the OEM lamp. There are tons of options out there for a 9006. Many of us would like to change the color temp of the lamps, however the work necessary to change out the lamps doesn't justify the results. IMHO it's HID or nothing. You will loose a large amount of lumens for a change in color temp. You can muddle over the numbers. look around on the ORG for other posts on the topic.

I was also looking into changing my "ugly whites" from my fog lights and change them to magnificent brights (Xenon super whites). Also is there a way to point ur fog lights a little higher, i live in california and we hardly get an fog here. I normally get it, on average, about a handfull of times a year. Has anyone done this? How can i do this?

For the fogs I would go with the yellows. I live in NY and we get a lot of fog here. I was with one of my friends who has a Lexus GS with the yellows and they work great. They kind of look nice too, someone on the site has them.

So did you install them already? Did they fit right? How does it look? Pics would be nice if you answered YES to all of those!

Id recommend Sylvania Silverstars.... Ive had these in all my non HID cars, and loved them. Their extremely bright. And a clean, white light. Ive got them in my Murano's fog lamps right now and it has HID. They match ALMOST perfect.

One thing we talked about in a past thread is the fact that if you change the fogs to "magnificent white" then they are virtually useless as a "fog" because the beam won't cut through. I was going to go super white as well. I know we live in Cali and hardly get any fog but I have found them useful in the rain (which I know we don't get much of either)
I replaced mine with the yellow Piaa H3'sand I'm totally happy, check here:

what about the moisture seal that turn locks behind and over the back of the bulb (2006 maxima se). Could that be taken off without and harm to my bulbs? i live in Kentucky by the way and we do get fog and plenty of rain.

holy old thread batman!

but to answer your question...you'll have to drill a 1" hole on the back cover to feed the HID wires through with the supplied grommet (that comes in most HID kits). it will still seal out the moisture.
