Arg... No MP3's?!?

Just found out the 04 Maxima doesn't play MP3! Why, for the love of gawd... What are some of you doing to play your MP3's?

I installed a Kenwood head unit with a Kenwood Music Keg. 20 gigs of MP3s on demand.

So, with these new headunits do they mess with the controls on the dash? I would assume they would just become obsolete. How about the Bose system, is it really worth replacing?

Yeah, I was kinda thinking along the iPod lines also, but don't like the idea of using an FM broadcaster. I'm very interested in hearing what others have done as well.

I connect my iPod with a PAC Audio AAI-NIS unit. The unit attatches in place of the SAT tuner. If you have SAT and want to keep it, you can't use this. If you don't have SAT but have the SAT button, you can. The unit provides two RCA inputs. With mini-headphone plug to RCA patch cord, you can hook up any audio source to you car with perfect sound. I have pics on the install and instructions in another thread here or I can e-mail them.

The PAc adaptor is definitelythe way to go if you're keeping the stock HU.

Maxium, it was a bit annoying at first to have "dead" stereo controls still on the dash, I wish they would have switched the stereo and climate controls...they had to have known that people were' going to install aftermarket equipment??? I already had this stuff from my old car...so once I found the dash kit it was a no brainer. I kept the stock door speakers though, they sound much better with having the ability to adjust the sound with more detail using the new HU...If I didn't have all this equipment already I'd probably still be stock (with subs etc...)

Russgriz, thanks for the pics, I just finished putting my dash back together!!

jsmithsole - I hear ya. Unfortantly I will have to resume pretty much stock on this. I do however really like the DVD! Pretty schweet deal there.

russgriz - please email me what you have to jnorris@coldflux.com. I'm very interested in the PAC Audio AAI-NIS unit.
