Think there might be a correlation?

Makes perfect sense. Easy to sell on Ebay and anonymous. Do you know what your seller looks like? Where did these assemblies come from? Can you trust the story this person gives you?

Its more or less just curiousity. I would be nervous ordering from Ebay not knowing where exact the assembly came from.

Just curious...what kind of looks are we looking out for from a seller in EBAY?

I am sure it happens. It's unfortunate that these people choose this method to make a buck. Basically as far as genuine Nissan HIDs on ebay go they are most likely stolen. Unless they lie and say they are from a wreck.

I am not looking to buy from ebay. Like I said, I am merely curious.

But when I spend a couple hundred on something I like to see the person face to face and make sure the purchase isn't out of the back of someone's van or their garage. When it comes to money I don't trust people much.

If you're suggesting the ebay HID's are maybe "hot", I'd say ... duh! How else can you explain someone having several sets of OEM HID's? And if the mounting tabs are broken, there's like zero doubt they're stolen. Thieves have to ****** and run, so they don't take the time to properly remove the units from the car.

And if you buy one of these stolen units, don't be surprised if the police show up some day and confiscate them. They're stolen merchandise and they don't care that you paid someone for them or not.

more than likely they are stolen. I would look for sellers that sell a lot of different car parts. They are more likely a junk yard selling salvage. Of course they could also be a chop shop.

If the tabs are broken, they are most likely stolen. You could ask for pics that relate to where they say they are from, i.e. a wrecked Max, or their salvage yard.
