Where to purchase emblems?

Where can one purchase Nissan emblems? I've got crappy gold emblems and hate them (looks too 'blingy'). Want to get standard chrome emblems - both grille emblem and all trunk emblems (ie, maxima, 3.5 sl, nissan, etc). I'm assuming that I could go through the dealership, but would like any other ideas. Any links would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jane

how ironic you two post matching topics? I ordered a grille emblem off of eBay. you can check there or maybe members that "shaved" theirs off will sell you some.

I may just check with the dealer if I can't find anything online.

Next question: How hard is it to remove the current emblems and get the new silver/chrome ones put on? Is this something I can do myself? I haven't even looked to see how they are attached......

Thx.

Missjane: Its a piece of cake to remove emblems. You take a hairdryer and I used a rag to surround the target letter to protect the paint from the heat. I heated the emblem til it got loose. Then I pryed it off with my fingers. Sometimes u have to rock it back and forth. Takes prolly 2-4 min depending on each letter. I had my whole back area debadged in about 30 min. Then you remove the glue with Goof off, and polish and wax. Are you sure you want to put emblems back on .I removed mine cuz I like that clean look. Check out my pics on the links on my signature.

That does look good, Deus....I'll have to think about that. So, what about the round NISSAN emblem? Follow the same instructions as above? And, how do you get them back on?

Thanks,

Jane

The round emblem should be the same also. I really dont know cuz I havent removed mine, just everything else. To put them back on is easy, just peel and stick. When you buy it, it comes with the same adhesive, just peel the paper backing and stick it back on. Be careful though to make sure you put it on exactly where you want it. The first try will most likely be your last...

Call up any Nissan dealer and order part #628907Y000.

Thats the emblem. I show a price of $20.40. Thats what it would cost a repair facility doing repairs on a Max. Not sure how much they would sell them to walkins though.

If anyone needs OEM part numbers just let me know. I can look most parts up pretty easily.

Miss Jane: I took the NISSAN logo off the back and discovered that there were two holes. I immediately stuck the logo back on. Its MUCH more difficult to remove that logo because its larger than the letters. Took probably 2-3 times as long to remove. I put it back in place before the tape on the back solidified. At some point, Im taking it off and filling in the holes. I really think logos are ugly and I dont need them to tell me what car I have and neither does anyone else. Also, it easier to wax when u dont have logos in the way. I really like the smoooooth look.
