Up here in the Great White North ( Montreal, Canada ) We have replacement value insurance. The insurance company can write off your car if the repairs cost more than the car's current depreciated value. You should look into this...maybe you can come out ahead with a brand new '05 SE.....Good luck!
we have the same thing here in the USA. If the damage to the car totals more than the blue book value of the car... it's considered totalled.

Nope sorry. I talked to the insurance adjuster today and he said that they already had the new wheel on order, $485! So I take it that it was damaged. Im going in on Wednesday for the total estimate of damages. The car was towed today to the actual body shop that is repairing it. Info on all the damages on Wednesday.

BTW I picked up a 2005 Pontiac Bonneville for my rental today! Not a Max but very roomy and very comfortable.

O man that sucks. Glad everyone is ok. Your car was my favorite on this site. Does his insurance pay for all the aftermarket stuff?

body shop only

You must feel very fortunate that you will be dealing with only a body/repair shop, not a hospital too and that the insurance claim will be for the car, not for an emergency room or surgery or rehabilitation. Experiences such as yours can sometimes bring priorities in to sharp focus. I hope the car repairs are completed with a minimum of hassles.

$3,001.65 in damage! Not as bad as I thought. Everything is repairable...mainly suspension damage. Thats basing on what they saw. Of course theyll be looking for additional damage when they start getting into the repair, hopefully nothing else. The Max should be ready in about 3 weeks.

is that the quote that the other guys insurance company gave you? the reason i ask is because when my accident happened, the lady's insurance company came over to look at my car and valued the dammage only at $2,467... but when i got the car fix it cost well over $5,000+. as you can see that is a huge diffrence. get the car inspected by a good body shop, and see what they car for a price to fix it. and if you already did, then disregard this entire post.

Actually yes thats what the insurance company valued the damage at. Im certain that its more than that and theyll figure that out once they start repairing the car. Its at a good shop now so I trust they will do a good job. Plus Im not paying a penny for any of this anyway.
