Nissan and HID theft

I recall a while back someone mentioning that Nissan engraved in the lens what kind of light it was. So I checked and sure enough right there on the bottom of the housing it says DS2. Do you think Nissan could make it any easier for a thief to identify whether you have HID or not. With Nissan being one of the most stolen cars around because of HIDs you would think that they would not engrave something like that.

Actually, you can tell if its HID just by looking at it. Even if Nissan decided to stop with the markings I dont think that theifs would change their minds. Lets all hope that our HIDs stay right where they are.

yes, i was the one who posted that thread a little while ago

when the lights are off, how can you tell HID? of course when the lights are lit, you can tell. but looking at a parked car with its lights off, is a little hard. well atleast with my inexperience.

unless the car is an SL...I believe hid are standard on SL's
